Jaws 10 Application Mode not Forms Mode

While trying to browse yahoo groups at www.groups.yahoo.com, I discovered something called "application mode". It has something to do with how the html is written for the page I guess. Anyway this application mode occurs automatically and makes it very difficult to navigate the webpage as one would navigate any other. I've tried finding info about this but haven't found much. Everything seems to talk about auto forms mode, the big 10 feature, which I have no issue with. What I did find is that application mode has something to do with the way the webpage is written and it makes jaws behave as though the webpage were an application rather than a webpage and it disables the virtual part of jaws. Is there a way to turn off this application mode and prevent it from occuring?

i think what this is is the new tags that allow people to say use a word substitute on the web. it's the coding in the page that's causing jaws to switch to this, and i'm not sure on how to control it, someware in the options though if i remember right

What does that mean, tags to substitute words? I grasp what you mean about the coding in the page causing jaws to do this though. :)

Yeah that's right, to fix this problem just hit the esc key.
Sincerely,

I first encountered this application mode thing on Ebay when I was trying to set up a listing. I will go and look up a way of disabling it.

Hitting escape doesn't work. I just tab my way out of it. If anyone finds a better solution, I'd love to hear it. I did a little searching for an answer and came up empty but I didn't spend much time looking because I'm lazy.
